    Heavy rush in Sabarimala

Sabarimala: Sabarimala Sannidhanam witnessed heavy rush of pilgrims after the temple was re-opened for Makaravilakku festival on Sunday. The pilgrims were caught in the heavy rains too on Sunday. The pilgrims were able to worship the idol only after waiting for 10 hours in the queue. When the temple opened on Sunday morning the queue extended till the Marakkoottam and at noon it extended to Sabaripeetom. Till 11am the devotees were allowed to move ahead in various segments. After noon, for three hours, no one was allowed to move from Pampa. There was huge rush on the way through Karimala. Due to heavy rush the temple was closed at 2 pm in the day time and 11.30 pm at night.
