Chittoor: A goonda leader, an accused in many cases including murder, was hacked to death by a group when he was travelling in a auto along with his friend. The auto driver was also injured in the attack while trying to help the victim.
Prabosh, 33, son of Nallepilly Thonippalom Swaminathan, who had several injuries after the attack, died on way to hospital in Coimbatore. The auto driver has been admitted to a private hospital in Kozhinjampara.
The incident occurred at 5 pm on Sunday. A group, in a white van with Palakkad registration, attacked Prabosh and his friend who were in an auto after buying liquor from Kozhinjampara town. The mob, after pelting country bombs, created a panic scene and hacked Prabosh. His friend fled from the scene. After the attack the group escaped to Chittoor and Prabosh was rushed to a hospital by the police. Prabosh who was in jail for murdering a goonda leader Yogesh in July 2009, was out on bail for some days.
