Decision on Muraleedharan's re-entry soon: UDG

Kochi : The platform for the re-entry of Mr K Muraleedharan, son of late veteran Congress Leader K Karunakaran was ready and a final decision in this regard would be taken soon, UDF Convenor P P Thankachan said today. Talking to reporters here, he said ''Nobody is against the re-entry of Mr Muraleedharan, and it was the Congress High Command that has to take a decision in this regard.'' The atmosphere was very conducive for taking Mr Muraleedharan back to the Congress Party, he said there were no opposition or obstruction from anybody in the KPCC about Mr Muraleedharan's issue.

'Since a decision in this regard was taken by the High Command we could not tell an exact date of revoking the action,' he said and expressed the hope for a green signal in this regard would be got from the High Command.

There were certain technical problem in taking back Mr Muraleedharan earlier, he said and added it could be overcome with the intervention of the High Command.

Asked whether the KPCC President would recommend the High Command for an early decision, he said ''The reply in this regard has to be made by the KPCC President.'' Admitting that Mr Muraleedharan had worked actively for the success of candidates in the recent elections to the local bodies, he said ''We are expecting an early response from the High Command before starting the Yatra, so that he could also be a part of the yatra.
