Thiruvananthapuram : The SC/ST All India Confederation today came in support of former Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan and alleged a conspiracy behind maligning him and his family.
Alleging a section of people was annoyed following the rise of Mr Balakrishnan to a high post in the judiciary, Confederation President K Ramankutty told newspersons here everything related to the allegations was part of a conspiracy.
Mr Ramankutty said they would submit a memorandum to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, seeking an inquiry against Supreme Court Judges who were involved in corruption cases in the last 15 years.
''The attempt is to malign Balakrishnan who came up from a very low background. This is very unfortunate,'' he added.
To a question, he said he would not demand the resignation of Mr Balakrishnan from the post of NHRC Chairman
