Kannur: CPM retained the ruling in Pariyaram MCH when the party sweeped the total 12 seats in the polling to the governing body of the Pariyaram MCH held here on Sunday at the KKN Smaraka Govt School.With this thumping victory CPM leader MV Jayarajan took over as the new chairman of the director board.Meanwhile UDF alleged that CPM tried to sabotage the polls. They alleged that CPM threatened the voters on the previous day of election by calling them on phone and some were blocked in road while coming to cast vote. UDF also said that they would move in legal way against the polls. But CPM denied the allegations.
The elected panel members are: VV Rameshan, KP Jayabalan, VG Padmanabhan, CV Gowri Nambiar, PD Chacko, T Kumaran, MV Sarala, K Prabhakaran, Adv A Shailaja, Koliakkodu Krishnan Nair and Shekharan The election to the director board has been necessitated following the resignation in July last year of the CPM-controlled director board which took over the administration of the medical college after it was elected under the banner of the medical college 'Samrakshana Samithi' in a controversial election in 2007. The board headed by CPM leader T.K. Govindan stepped down two years before its tenure.
