Mukkam: A student returning from school was killed after she was hit by an overspeeding tipper lorry near her house on Tuesday evening. Her sister was also injured very seriously. The infuriated mob set the lorry on fire and blocked the road. Though the fireforce tried to extinguish the fire, the mob did not allow them. Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the mob.
The deceased is Snehasandra,12, a sixth standard student at the Agasthyanmuzhi Pallottihill School. Her sister Pranayasandra, 14, has been admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College. The sisters were entering their home after alighting from the school van when the lorry hit them. Sneha died on the spot.
