V Guard MD unloads goods, CITU blocked

    Posted on: 20 Jan 2011

Kochi: In the V-star go down in Kaloor-Puthukkalavattom region, where the clash between employees and union leaders on loading and unloading is prevailing, V-Guard MD Kochauseph Chittilappilly unloaded the goods. In this the CITU workers blocked him which led to a clash between company employees and them. The tension began when CITU was of the stand that they won't allow the company employees to unload the goods and if they do, the CITU must be provided with on looking charge (Nokku Kooli). Management did not agree for the same. In this the CITU workers blocked loading and unloading of goods in the go down. In this V-Guard group managing director Kochauseph Chittilappilly and wife Sheela who is the MD of V-Star group reached the spot and held discussions with union, but went futile. Union leaders challenged that they won't allow the company employees to unload goods and owner himself can unload the same. In this when Kochauseph himself began to unload the goods from the lorry, CITU works blocked the company employees from transferring the same to the go down which lead to a clash. Later Kalamassery police reached the scene. Later the goods were unloaded to the go down with help of employees brought by the police. Sheela said that they would face the issue legally.
