Thiruvananthapuram : Slamming the Centre for the hike in petro prices, the CPI(M) today alleged that the Manmohan Singh Government had failed in curbing the price of essential commodities.
Inaugurating the Raj Bhavan march held as a protest against the hike of petro prices, CPI(M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said it was the wrong policies of the Centre that had led to the price hike.
He called for altering the policies so that the common man did not suffer.
Mr Pinarayi also flayed Leader of the Opposition in Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy who had protested against hike in petro prices.
There was no sincerity in the words of Mr Chandy, he said and asked the Leader of the Opposition to openly agitate against the Centre's policy.
