Kochi: Chief minister, V S Achutanandan, today urged banks to provide loans to farmers at lower rates of interest to increase food production. Addressing a funtion here to launch the 'Go Green' initiatives of the Kerala based Catholic Syrian Bank' (CSB),
he said the bank should take the lead in providing all help to the agriculture sector in the state. The 'Go Green' initiatives of the bank should be implemented state wide, he said.
Achutanandan also released the 'Navathi souvenir. Cochin Port chairman, N Ramachandran distributed free solar
study lamps to some school children and hawker lamps to street vendors.
