Malayalee student falls from train near Ratnagiri, dies
Mumbai: A Malayalee student died after falling from Mangala Express bound for Nizamudhin. The deceased is Jeson Raj, 18, son of Rajan Thomas and Mercy from Kambaloor, Kasargod. Jeson, studying at the Samudra Institute of Maritime Studies in Lonavala, was returning with his friends to Mumbai after vacation. The accident occurred when the train entered a tunnel just before Adavali station on the Konkan route. When the train entered the tunnel, the train jerked and Jeson who was sitting on the steps of the entrance door and brushing his teeth fell outside. Though his friends immediately pulled the chain, the train stopped only after passing the tunnel. Jeson's head hit a rock and died on the spot. His brother Amalraj is a ninth standard student.
