Netaji Subhas Museum at Andaman soon

Anadman Nicobar’s oldest NGO ‘Local Borns’ Association’ has decided to set up Netaji Subhas Museum at historic Netaji Club in Port Blair soon.

Rohindra Lall, president Local Borns’ Association, told PTI that he had been assured of all possible help from the Netaji Foundation in setting up of the museum at Port Blair.

He has been handed over photos of historical importance and other materials relating to Subhas Chandra Bose’s visit to Port Blair on 29 December, 1943 and hoisting the Indian Tricolour for the first time on the following day at Gymkhana Ground in front of Andaman club.

At that time, Netaji also visited Browning Club, the name by which the Local Borns’ Association was known before independence. Netaji had met INA members where local people handed over donation to Netaji, Mr. Lall said.
