Kozhikode: A mini marathon will be organized in Kozhikode on February 6 by the Federal Bank in association with IIM, District Sports Council and Usha School of Athletics. The marathon is organized to highlight the message not to refrain physically challenged kids from occupying the forefront in the society.
The marathon would be held in Kozhikode beach at 7 am. There will be seperate marathon for 10 km and 3 km sections. In 10 km section women and men can participate. First prize is Rs 1 lakh. The second and third prizes are Rs 50,000 and Rs 25 000 respectively. Consolation prizes will be there till 20 positions.
Those who are interested to participate can contact the district sports council. Registration can be done at the registration counter at Focus Mall from 1 pm to 8 pm. Thos who are outside Kerala can call 9645375897 or can register in the website www.calicutmarathon.com . Registration is free.
The last date for registration is February 4. As part of the marathon, posters and banners made by kids would be exhibited. These kids who are interested to participate can bring their creation or can mail at ssg@iimklive.comor.
