Kannur : CPI(M) state Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said development will take place only when persons interested in development were in the charge of projects in a time-bound manner.
Mr Vijayan was speaking at the inauguration of the North Malabar Development Seminar organised by Malayalam daily Deshabhimani at district bank auditorium here.
Ministers M Vijayakumar, N K Prema Chandran, P K Sreemathi, MPs Kadanappalli Ramachandran and P Karunakaran, MLAs K K Shailaja and M Prakashan, among others, attended the seminar.
Mr Vijayakumar also released a sovenier related to the Kannur Airport.
Chief Engineer of Kerala water authority, Northern Region, R Sukumaran, Chief Engineer PWD roads T Babu raj, and Chief Engineer Electricity, Transmission North O Asokhan presented the papers at thier respective fields for the development of North Malabar.
