Kottayam : Rubber Board Chairman Sheela Thomas today said that she would take all possible steps after studying all aspects for the development of the rubber sector.
Talking to newspersons at a meet the press programme here, she said eventhough she was wife of a planter, her area of operation was different.
Since she took charge as Rubber Board Chairman only yesterday, she had to study all aspects before making any announcements, she said.
In replay to a question, she said eventhough the Rubber Board was giving more importance to the growers and their interest, it could not ignore the interest of industrialists.
When asked about her experience as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala, she said she had very good opinion about the Chief Minister. ''He is a man who practices what he preached,'' she said.
She was appointed as Rubber Board Chairman while serving as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala.
