Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthandan today told the Assembly that he had written to Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia demanding an inquiry into the allegations raised against former High Court judges Narayana Kurup and K Thankappan, who had allegedly taken bribes for scuttling the sensational Kozhikode Ice Cream Parlour Case.
It was K A Rauf, a close relative of former Minister and Indian Union Muslim League General Secretary P K Kunhalikutty, who had come out with revelations against the two judges.
He alleged Mr Kunhalikutty had influenced these judges for favouring the case on his side.
In a written reply, Mr Achuthanandan told the Assembly that a lot of allegations against former judges and their relatives were coming up recenty.
Action would be taken if there were complaints and evidence against these persons, he added.
Achuthandan also noted that the special branch and Vigilance department were now probing the allegations against former Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan's son-in-law P V Sriniyan.
