A case of rape has been registered against Dilip Wagh, a Nationalist Congress Party MLA, in Nashik. A 20-year-old woman complained that Mr. Wagh, representing Pachora in Maharashtra, raped her after calling her to a government guest house with the promise of a job, the Sakarwada police told The Hindu over telephone.
Based on her complaint, a first information report under Sections 376B (intercourse by public servant with woman is his custody) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC was lodged on Thursday night, the police said.
The alleged incident took place on February 21. “The victim hails from Aurangabad,” the police said. Mr. Wagh's secretary Bunty Mahesh Mali has also been booked for the same charges. Both his and Mr. Wagh's whereabouts are not known.
