Kozhikode : Around 300 railway officials including 40 sportspersons comprising former sprint queen P T Usha and distance runner Olympian Preeja Sreedhan participated in the 'Safety Run-2011' organised by the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway to observe 'Annual Safety Week', here today.The week is being observed from February 26 to March 4.
Besides Usha and Preeja, olympians David Thottathil and Binesh and S K Raina, Divisional Railway Manager, palakkad
also ran the 6 kms long route.
The race started from the Kozhikode Railways station, went through Mananchira, stadium, mavoor, M M Ali road before
returning to the station premises.
The run was organised to create safety awareness among the railway employees and the travelling public, Raina told
