The state has not got any reply from the Centre to the letter sent by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan demanding CBI probe into the lottery issue, Chief Secretary Dr. P. Prabhakaran said in his letter submitted to the chief minister.
Such a reply was not received at the Tax department, office of the Chief Secretary and the office of Principal Secretary of the chief minister, the letter says.
KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala had said that the Prime Minister's office has sent a reply to the chief minister's letter. He had also placed a letter sent by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on 29 December, 2010 to file a case in the state as a part of completing the formalities necessary for a CBI probe.
Chennithala had also said that the reply, including the letter from the home minister (No: 805/21C/232010 P.O., 14461) was sent to the state chief secretary on 24, January, by the director of the Prime Minister's Office, Asish Gupta.
KPCC president had said that the allegation of the chief minister that the PMO had not taken any action on the letter in the lottery case was false.
