Assets of KGB's kin were probed: Police

Kochi: State home department confirmed that the police special branch had conducted probe on the assets of former CJI KG Balakrishnan and his kin. The home department, as per RTI, informed the high court senior advocate Binu that the probe was conducted as per media reports against KGB's kin on accumulation of wealth. But details are not known. A confidential report has been furnished to the additional chief secretary, who has the charge of home departmentIt is learnt that the probe was mainly on the assets held by KG Balakrishnan, wife Nirmala, daughters KB Soni and KB Rani, sons-in law, VP Sreenijan and MJ Benny, brother KG Baskaran, relative Abhilash Chandran and other brothers.

It is found that VP Sreenijan and Benny accumulated disproportionate wealth.
