Kottayam: Stating that Congress party was always in the forefront in maintaining virtue, opposition leader Oommen Chandy Sunday said the party will continue to promote virtuousness in all dealings and that the candidates will be selected whether they have the chance of winning the seat.
Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a function here, Oommen Chandy said UDF has the possibility to win in the upcoming assembly election.
In reply to the demand raised by Kerala Students Union not to field candidates who have contested more than three times, he said Youth Congress and KSU have the freedom and right for expressing their opinions.
Congress party is not disregarding their right of expression, and will consider it seriously.
He said the Congress High Command has not said anything on this. Tainted lenders in the party should stay away from contesting in the elections, he said.
