Thiruvananathapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) today began its two-day meeting here to evolve guideines to select party candidates for the April 13 elections to the state assembly. Defence Minister A K Antony, Union Civil Aviation minister Vayalar Ravi, minister of state for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy and Pradesh Congress President Ramesh Chennithala were among senior leaders of the party who participated in the meeting at the KPCC headquarters Indira Bhavan.
Though a final decision on the candidates was unlikely to be arrived at today itself, the meeting is likely to reach a consensus on the top leaders who should contest the assembly polls.
It was learnt that the candidatures of Chandy and Chennithala were discussed at the meeting.
