Lorry driver dies as cement trolley falls over him
Peroorkada: A lorry driver was crushed to death when a trolley carrying cement at a construction site fell over him on Sunday. The deceased is Rejith, 24, from Indiranagar. The incident occurred at 10 am when a trolley carrying cement was moving upwards in the railing to the eighth floor of a flat constuction site. Rejith was sitting inside the tipper lorry as mud was being unloaded from the tipper. The trolley which was brought to the eight floor suddenly snapped and fell over the lorry. Rejith was crushed inside the lorry. Though he was rushed to Medical College his life could not be saved. Police was informed about the incident very late. Police said the construction was progressing violating security norms. The cement was being carried in the trolley without any security measures. Though the flat security officers said that protection wall was set up with iron rods, police said that was not enough. Police said a case would be registered against the security officers.
