SBT awards: Kakkanadan bags Suvarnamudra

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Bank of Travancore Malayalam Literature-media awards 2010 -11 have been announced. Kakkanadan would be felicitated with the Suvarnamudra considering his overall contribution to Malayalam language and literature. For 2009 poems section, Soorya Binoy bagged award for Nizhalpura, short story by P V Shajikumar-Vellarippadom, children story Jack and Jill, B Murali, Literature criticism- Damitham', Sunil P Ilayidam. Reji Joseph of Deepika would be given the media award. For 2010 section, Poem Arayambika- `Thonniyappoloru Puzha', short story- Indu Menon for Kathakal, children's literature - Kuttikalku Panchamtritham-Dr M A Kareem, literature criticism S Rajasekharan, in media section Nisha K Nair, Malayala Manorama. The winners would be given cash prize of Rs 15,000 and a plaque.

The award would be distributed on March 29 in Thiruvananthapuram.
