Two govt officials held for molesting 11-year-old

Cheruthoni: Police on Thursday held two PWD officials for molesting a 11-year-old primary school girl. The arrested are Vishwanathan, 49, from Neelamperur, Alappuzha and Alexander, 52, from Ezhamkulam. The arrest was made as per the complaint filed by the girl and her parents.The accused are residing in the government headquarters in Idukki. Vishwanathan who befriended the girl's father used to visit their home frequently. In June 2010, Vishwanathan brought the girl, who was on her way to school, to his quarters and after showing her blue film molested her. Later his friend Alexander also molested her. When the duo continued the torture for a period, the girl reported the matter to her class teacher.

Later, school authorities informed her parents. The girl also informed the matter to the Children's welfare committee who came to the school on Tuesday. Later she along with her parents filed a complaint.
