Kannur: CPI(M) has admitted that the party had discussion with Jamaat-e-Islami leaders on April 13 Assembly elections in Kerala.
Addressing a poll campagn at Pazhayangadi today for LDF candidate T V Rajesh, CPI(M) State Secretary Mr Pinarayi Vijayan said a group of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders had met him.''However, people in the state were aware of LDF's stand against Jamaa-e-islami which was not in the Left Front now. But, it is up to them to take a decision over the discussion with the LDF leaders,'' he said.
Why was Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala expressing apprehension over the discussion ?, he asked.
Suspecting the UDF of surreptitiously helping BJP, he alleged that the BJP was trying to open its account in the Kerala Assembly as UDF had supported BJP many times. But the people in the state could not allow BJP to open the account, he clarified.
However, the BJP was in touch with organisations like NSS and SNDP.
Pointing out that NSS had already clarified their stand, he said SNDP should also announce their stand in the Assembly polls
