    Ice cream case: CEC asks DGP to file report on unnecessary intervention

    Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Election Commission on Monday asked DGP to conduct a probe and file a report on a compliant that chief minister VS Achuthanandan is unnecessary interfering in the ice cream parlour case. The CEC also sought to present two letters sent by the CM to DGP in relation to this. UDF convener P P Thanakachan filed a complaint with the CEC pointing out that CM has been misusing the police system against PK Kunhalikutty and that is a violation of the model code of conduct. The CEC had sought to conduct a probe on this.

    Earlier, VS asked ADGP Vincent M Paul to meet Advocate Susheel Kumar and give details on the case diary. When ADGP denied, VS sent a warning to the DGP .
