A day after Indian officials indicated some ‘progress’ on the issue of stapled Chinese visas to residents of J&K, China hinted that it might not persist with the 2-year-old practice. Asked about it at a press conference, Chinese ambassador to India Zhang Yan did not repeat his government’s known line. “You yourself can watch closely and from which you can pick up and come to your own conclusion,” Zhang said.
