Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Thursday announced a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to sportswoman Sonu Sinha, who lost her leg after being pushed from a moving train.
“The CM, while announcing the financial assistance, directed the DIG of Bareilly to conduct a speedy inquiry into the case and ensure stern punishment to the guilty,” an official spokesman said. Mayawati has also asked the authorities to ensure proper care and treatment of the athlete, he said.
