Mayor Krishna Gaur on Tuesday reviewed the revenue recovery and water supply system of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and issued instructions for suspension of a ward in-charge on adopting careless attitude in the recovery work and show cause notices to two zonal officers and two ward in-charge.
Gaur reviewed the revenue recovery and to ensure water supply as per the needs of people during the summer season in presence of BMC Commissioner Manish Singh.
During the meeting, she instructed Singh to suspend the in-charge of ward number 51 Amitosh Pal Singh for his disinterest in the recovery work and to issue show cause notices to the zonal officers of ward number 9, Dinesh Sharma, ward number 11’s Har**** Tiwari for not keeping control over their subordinates and to ward 37 in-charge Bindra Prasad and ward 52 incharge JP Verma for lesser revenue collection. She also instructed to ensure that the remaining revenue should be recovered within a month and cent percent property tax should be collected.
The mayor also issued instructions to follow the suggestions given by the corporators and to do the works recommended by them on priority. She also issued instructions to stop payment and blacklist the company that supplied substandard cement tanks.
The mayor took account of the revenue recovery, balance left, and demand in the current year and recovery done against it during the meeting. She also took suggestions from the corporators for making smooth water supply during the summer season in their wards.
She said that it is necessary to increase the income of the corporation for doing development in the city for this we need to bring cent per cent properties of the city in the gambit of property tax and to recovery of cent per cent property tax should also be ensured.
She asked the BMC officials to take help of corporators in the revenue recovery and also called on the corporators to extend cooperation to officials in the process.
