    Thilakan to surrender before police today

    Cine actor Thilakan, who is the prime accused in the incident in which the car driven by him took the lives of two kids, will surrender before the police on Saturday.

    According to sources, Thilakan will report before the police after he gets discharged from the hospital.

    Circle Inspector of Wandoor police station Biju Raj, who is heading the investigation team, said that the police would also collect the statement of Thilakan's personal staffer Savitha on Saturday.

    Savitha was also admitted to the hospital after suffering injuries in the accident.

    It was on Thursday afternoon that two children died when the car driven by Thilakan hit an autorickshaw at Colonypadi on the PandikadWandoor Road in Malappuram.

    The kids Farzeen Khan,6, and his sister Fathima Fidha,2, died on the spot and their parents, Firoz and Jazina were injured in the incident. The police had registered a case against Thilakan under Section 279 (rash and negligent driving or riding on a public way) and 304 A(causing death by negligence).

    Thilakan and Savitha, who were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) of the AlShifa Hospital Perinthalamanna, were not questioned on the day of accident. The two were shifted to the hospital ward on Friday.
