Leaders should keep away from corruption, commissions, says Ananth Kumar

Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) National general secretary Ananth Kumar asked the district presidents and general secretaries of his party in the State to avoid ‘wrong deeds’ as they are in public life.

He was addressing the inaugural session of the three-day special training programme for State BJP leaders convened here at Sahib Bandigi premises in Lalghati locality on Saturday.

Advising the leaders to shun the ‘wrong deeds’, Kumar said they should recognise the power of the organisation otherwise the bureaucracy becomes uncontrolled. He directed the leaders should keep themselves aloof from corruption and commissions.

He gave five mantras of success to the leaders saying that they should not remain at one place and work on mobile phones. They should move to the field and visit places upto Tehsil, Mandal and Shakti Kendras. “Unless you visit the grass root level, you would not be bale to get genuine feedback,” he added.

He asked the leaders to maintain direct dialogue with the people at local level so that they could come to know their (party workers and local people’s) problems. He said the leaders should avoid conducting programmes only for short-term publicity. The programmes should not be symbolic, instead people should be mobilised. “There is no need to organise such programmes in which only a handful of party workers are participating,” he advised.

Terming the party organisation of Madhya Pradesh as the best in the country, Kumar said both Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh Governments have proved themselves towards Antyodaya ideology of the party. He said the responsibility of district presidents and general secretaries is to maintain good Governance between lower unit and the upper units. He asked them to maintain their behaviour as per the values of the organisation.
