The Delhi police has arrested Rakesh, alias Kale, a resident of Haryana, on the charges of allegedly stealing a tractor-trolley and abducting its driver.
The police has recovered the vehicle and rescued the driver. The suspects had kept the vehicle and its driver at Dhaboda village in Haryna.
The driver, Manoj, talked to his family members over the phone and informed them about his abduction.
Later, the victim's family registered a complaint with the Sultanpuri police. The calls helped the police to locate the place of the criminals.
The Delhi police with the help of its counterparts in Haryana conducted the raid and recovered the stolen vehicle and rescued the victim.
The police is also trying to arrest the other accomplices of Rakesh who were identified as Basant and Rajender.
During interrogation the accused committed to the crime. He said he had made the tractor-trolley for Surender for Rs 80,000 but he did not pay the due amount and kept on lingering him. Hence, on April 22, he hatched a plan of abducting Manoj and stealing tractor-trolley, the police said.
