Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader and former Health Minister K K Ramachandran was today expelled from the Congress for making controversial statements against Kerala Pradesh Congress President Ramesh Chennithala and opposition leader Oommen Chandy, violating party discipline.He has been removed from the membership for a period of six years, sources said.
The KPCC had sought an explanation from Mr Ramachandran for making the controversial statements against Mr Chandy and Mr Chennithala.
Before the assembly elections, he had raised several allegations against the two leaders.
He had alleged that Mr Chandy and Mr Chennithala turned against him when he raised his voice against corruption in Travancore Titanium company.
He had also alleged that the Congress was selling party tickets for the assembly elections.
Mr Ramachandran had even abstained from voting during this election.
