The Dr BR Ambedkar Anusuchit Jati Janajati Sangh, Jagatsinghpur which is known to consist supporters of Jagasinghpur MLA Bishnu Das submitted a memorandum to the National Commission for Schedule Caste on Friday.
It demanded the Commission’s intervention on the case of Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout allegedly making a insulting speech against the SC people at a public meeting at Kujanga on August 18,2010.
In the memorandum convenor of the Sangh Manoj Bhoi stated although within this period of time the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has again asked the State Government and the district police for the action taken report on the case and the Jagatsinghpur Superintendent of Police to appear personally before the Commission on May 2, but due to various reasons a callous attitude has developed which shows the anti – Dalit stand of the district as well as the State administration. Similarly despite the fact that the accused surrendered on April 4 , 2011 charge sheet has not been submitted to the court which proves the deliberate patronisation to the accused.
