Anna Hazare’s visit to Bangalore postponed

Anna Hazare might not visit the city on May 6 as planned. The 73-year-old has been advised rest as he has been suffering from high blood pressure, activists of India Against Corruption (IAC) announced in the city on Saturday.

The visit has been postponed to the second half of the month. The anti-corruption movement, however, will continue. And, to keep the enthusiasm of the volunteers high, IAC has organised a candle light march in four parts of the city between 8 pm and 9 pm on Sunday.

“About 100-150 people are expected in each location. It will show the city and our team in Delhi that volunteers are taking the movement forward,” said Ajit, a member of IAC.

IAC is also preparing to partner the team that would be auditing the public distribution system at the ward level.

The focus now is the Jan Lokpal Bill. The volunteers said that they would come back again with a protest if things do not move at the right pace.
