NOIDA: Additional district and session`s judge, Gautam Budh Nagar, Naveen Srivastav, convicted seven persons for committing a murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment on Friday.
Charged under sections 396 and 120B for dacoity with murder and criminal conspiracy, they were also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 10,000, each. Two accused, Vinod and Satish, charged u/s 307, 302 IPC, have been acquitted of the murder charges.
In November 2008, 29 year-old Ajai Kumar was returning to his village from his Noida office in his Santro car at about 10:00 pm. Near Sutiana village in the Bisrakh police station area, four men in another Santro car overtook Kumar`s car, forcing him to stop. They pulled him out, took him to a forested area nearby and shot him dead. Kumar died of multiple bullet injuries after several hours, in a Greater Noida hospital.
