Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister V S Achuthanandan on Monday sent a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking an immediate CBI probe on inter-state lottery issue. The CM 's office also handed over details of five cases.The CM also asked to probe about tax fraud of Rs 5,720 crore during the UDF regime from 2002 to 2004 with the secret help of income tax officials and government advocates.
VS said five months have passed since the state had informed of their willingness for a CBI probe. He also said the Bhutan government had cancelled contract with Martin too. The letter also stated that there are more then 500 FIRs registered for violation of lottery rules. But the accused with some influence are trying to destroy the evidence and forge documents. Among them details of five important cases have been sent.
