Bhopal
Strong winds and isolated thundershower led to a dip in the maximum temperature across the State, on Sunday.
The fall in maximum temperature saw an increase in people turning out to enjoy the Sunday evening. People rushed to the major spots in the city, even as the high winds got the better of the traffic, which caused huge traffic jams in the major squares of the city. The people did not bother as relived citizens enjoyed a Sunday evening.
The State Capital recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2 degree while the minimum stood at 27.6 degree Celsius.
The Meteorological Department forecasts that this pre-monsoon activity would continue to keep the temperatures under control as the State were reeling under a heat wave a few days ago.
Isolated rain and thundershowers would occur over central India owing to a trough that is in an elongated region of relatively low atmospheric pressure affecting the north and northeastern parts of the State.
The impact of the trough was felt in Gwalior and Satna the most which received rainfall of 2 cm each. Rewa and its surrounding areas were impacted by high velocity winds of about 100 km/hr on Sunday.
