Madhya Pradesh is likely to achieve an overall growth rate of 9 per cent, in the current fiscal year 2011-12, said a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sharad Jain here on Sunday.
Bullish about the economic prospects and activities in the State, Jain said that in the previous fiscal year the State had registered a growth rate of 8.5 per cent. The expected growth rate forecast for the country is in the range of 8 to 8.5 per cent while MP would for the first time in many years be ahead of the nation growth rate, he added.
Jain pointed out five major positives, which are working in favour of the growth rate of the State. Firstly, the annual plan outlay of `25,000 crore, which is 21 per cent higher than the previous year. Second, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Government has encouraged liberalisation that is likely to result in about `15,500 crore in revenue to the State.
The revenue in all likelihood is expected to be `2000 crore higher than the previous year, said Jain.
Third, despite of the drought in many districts, the agricultural output is likely to increase by three to four per cent, which will give a massive boost to the floundering rural economy.
Fourthly, the industrial output is likely to increase in the current fiscal, which will result by 12 to 15 per cent increase in revenue collection for the State.
Fifth being the inclusion of new items like new fruits, vegetables, jungle wood, and various other products in the economy activities of the State, that were left out till now, said Jain.
Jain refuted the allegations laid by the Congress party about the mystification of the Central Government funds by the State Government.
Instead, Jain took to task the betty political stunt by the Congress, for taking credit at the inauguration of the Bina Refinery earlier in the week.
