2 schools get notices for not following RTE

The district education office Indore served notices to two schools, as they were not following the guidelines of Free and Compulsory Child Education Right 2009.

The two CBSE schools Shri Sai Academy School Dongargaon and Wishwood Cottage School Dongargaon confused the parents and returned them back on the matter of admission under the free and Compulsory Child Education Right of the Government.

Under this law, the private schools have to offer 25 per cent seats of poor and weaker section students. The monitoring was conducted by the block resource coordinator Sanjay Nelson. The district education officer Rajni Jadaun issued notice to these schools that if the Act is not adhered to in their schools, strict action would be taken against them.

Schools are also instructed to display the eligibility criteria of admission in their schools on the notice board. The Aanganvadi volunteer of Hyderabadi Basti has complained that the children of her basti are not given admission and the parents were also confused on the matter of distance of the schools due to which the number of applications received by this schools were low.

On receiving the complaint, the BRC Sanjay Nelson conducted the monitoring in which the complaint was found to be true. The matter was brought into the notice of the district education officer and subsequently the DEO issued the notices.
