Thiruvananthapuram: Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that from June onwards wide releasing of films across the theaters in state would be implemented. The decision was taken after having a meeting with cinema organizations. Wide releasing would be implemented in theaters with AC, digital sound system, digital projector, cafeteria and good toilets. Theaters, which do not have such facilities, would be given three month's time to set up the facilities. Still if it is found wanting, those theaters won't be opted for release. As per the quality of facilities, theaters would be graded by classifying them as A and B class. A committee would be formed for grading which would consist of higher officials of related department, mediapersons and viewers. After grading, taking into consideration the investment by the theatre, ticket rates would be fixed. The minister said for the purpose regulatory authority would be formed.
