11 life term prisoners to be released
Kannur: The state government on Monday issued an order to release 11 prisoners, undergoing life sentence, by reducing their sentence term. The order was issued as per the recommendation of the Jail Advisory committee. Those who underwent 14 years in jail without availing any other allowances, are being released. Majority in the 11 are those who have undergone more than 16 years in jail. Kamalamma, who is 80 years old, is also included in the list. Kamalamma, who lost her vision and hearing capability, in not able to walk properly. She was sentenced to life term in a case relating to her daughter-in-law's death. Raghavan from Kasargod, Sudhakaran, Basheer, Krishnan, Chinnappan, Krishnankutty are also in the list.
