Kumali: The dead body of a four-and-half-year-old girl was found dumped in a tree hole of the cardamom plantation on Wednesday. Police suspect that the girl would have been sexually molested and later killed. The incident occurred at Sasthanada Mepara in Kumali. Sreeja, daughter of Sasi Kumar and Malathi, who are workers at the cardomom plantation, was found in the tree hole of the same plantation. An eighth-standard student from Meppra located the dead body first. Sreeja was left alone in her home by her parents who went for work.
Forensic tem led by Idukki SP KK Chellappan and dog squad inspected the area. The body has been sent for postmortem at the Kottayam Medical College. It is reported that the police have clues about the accused.
