    Ration dealers threaten not to supply Rs 1-kg-rice

    Thiruvananthapuram: Ration outlets in Kerala today threatened that they would boycott the UDF government's scheme of Rs one-kg-rice for BPL families during Onam season, if it fails to ensure them minimum wages.Talking to newspersons here, All India Ration Dealers' Association General Secretary Babychen Mukkadan said the state government should ensure minimum wages for ration dealers.

    Earlier, after the swearing in ceremony of the new overnment, it was decided to chart out a comprehensive plan to supply rice free from Onam season.

    Calling upon the UDF government to speed up the process for issuing three lakhs ration cards, he said action should be taken first to wipe out corruption from the Civil Supplies Deaprtment.
