Unnithan attack: HC asks DGP to conduct independent probe
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday asked DGP to conduct an independent probe on the criminal links of DySP Santosh M Nair who is the 6th accused in the attack against Mathrubhumi Kollam reporter VB Unnithan. The HC also asked to submit the report of the probe within three months.The probe must focus on whether the DySP was corrupt and has any links to crime or have misused his official post. The probe must be free from political or senior officials' influence. The report must be submitted to the HC registrar general in a sealed cover.
The court also rejected the bail application of Santhosh Nair and Container Santhosh. The court said Container Santhosh had connections with rowdies and there are chances of them trying to destroy evidences or influencing the witnesses.
