Malappuram: Minister for Education K Abdu Rabb on Friday surrendered the post-graduate medical seat of his son at the Thrissur Jubilee Medical College in the wake of the ongoing controversy. Earlier, Minister Adoor Prakash and DYFI State Treasurer V.V. Ramesan had also surrendered their children's PG medical seats.
Abdu Rabb revealed this at a press meet at the IUML district office here on Friday. He said his son Dr Nihas Naha got admission in PG pediatrics at the Jubilee hospital. But he said it is not morally right to study in an institution which did not allocate the seat for government quota. He said there was no pressure from either IUML or the UDF and it is his personal decision.
His son had gained admission through management quota by fulfilling all rules. In the entrance exam he scored 395th rank and was ranked 10th in counselling, When four were absent during that time he came to the 6th position. He said his son was successful in MBSS entrance too.
