Nedumbassery: A mother provincial was killed in an accident in Kariyatt near Nedumbassery. Two persons were injured. Sister Philomina, 65, mother provincial of Our Lady of Mercy convent in Aroor was died. Sister Paulin, car driver Sebastian from Moolamkuzhi was injured. Siister Philomina and team were returning after visiting the convent in Karoor, Tamil Nadu. Due to heavy rain, the car slipped in the road and overturned into the fields. Fire force team from Angamali lead the rescue operation. Sister Philomina died in the spot. She is the daughter of late Jopseh and Philomina from Cheranaloor.
She began her service in 1969 and she was also selected as general councilor in Rome. She also set up 'Our lady of mercy school in Aoor, and Convent.
