Thiruvananthapuram : Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly V S Achuthanandan today alleged that state notification of 32 cases to enable CBI inquiry into the lottery case was aimed at undermining the involvement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Congress leader Abhishek Sanghvi in the case.Addressing a press conference here, Mr Achuthanandan alleged that the notification without mentioning other aspects of the case was aimed at protecting the Union Minister, the Congress leader and lottery agent Santiago Martin.
Alleging that the notification was aimed at scuttling the case, he said there was no mention of inquiry into the role of black money in lottery case and its use in terrorist activities in the country.
Earlier, the Kerala High Court demanded a CBI probe into the lottery lobby of other states that had taken away Rs 80,000 crore from Kerala in last five years.
He alleged that the appointment of PC Iype as Additional Advocate General was aimed at helping State Industry Minister P K Kunjhalikutty in the 'Ice-cream parlour sex-scandal' case.
He said the transfer of top police officials, who were interogating corruption cases against State Health Minister Adoor Prakash and Panchayat Minister M K Muneer, was aimed at weakening the cases against the Ministers.
He alleged that the Government was against the Plachimada Tribunal enacted for releasing a penalty of Rs 216 crore for Plachimada victims from the Coca Cola company.
Alleging that the decision to give no objection certificate to 540 CBSE schools in the State was aimed at helping corporates in education sector, he said the Government was ignoring P A Mohammed Committe report on fee structure for the self financing colleges.
He also demanded the Government file an appeal against the High Court order, staying the fee structure for the self financing colleges under Christian management, fixed by Justice P A Mohammed Commitee.
