Kozhikode:Relatives of a Keralite kidnapped by terror outfit Abu Sayaf in the Philippines today said they have no clue about his whereabout even after a week of the abduction. Talking to UNI, Shibu, brother of Biju kidnapped by the terror module on June 22 from Sulu province of that country, said so far the authorities in both countries were not able to establish his whereabouts.
He said his father Narayanan had sent representations to the Prime Minister, Union Ministers Mullappally Ramachandran and E Ahamed seeking their help to secure his release.
The family received information from the authorities that they had instructed the Indian Embassy in Manila to look into the case. Meanwhile, his wife Elina, a native of Philippines, called up the family to inform that Biju had informed her over phone that he was hail and hearty.
However, he did not reveal other details as he apparently talked in the presence of the abductors, Shibu quoted her telling to them on phone.
Earlier, reports said Abu Sayaf had demanded 125,000 US Dollar as ransom for the release of Biju, working in a studio run by Kuwait Army and also as a designer.
He was kidnapped by armed persons from their residence in Sulu province at Tempok while he was on leave, according to the information received by the family in Koyilandi in this district.
