SAD president and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has thanked the people of the State particularly traders, shopkeepers, industrialists and other businessmen besides leaders and workers of the SAD-BJP combine and all Punjabis for making the half-day Punjab Bandh a huge success.
“Centre should read the writing on the wall,” said Sukhbir.
“As per reports, people have wholeheartedly supported the half-day bandh. Shops, bazaars, and other commercial establishments remained closed in all the big and small towns and situation was completely peaceful,” said party secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema.
He said that the traders were themselves eager to maintain bandh which indicated their anger against the increased prices of petroleum products.
